Drapes for Arch Windows
Originally designed by the Romans as a more load-bearing window for their ever-growing architectural dreams, arched windows have a beautiful design profile that has stood the test of time.
Unfortunately, the rounded top doesn't necessarily lend itself to some of the more blocky window treatments; technically possible, but there are options we like better. Drapes, consequentially, are naturally flowy and highlight the curve of the window rather than hide it.
Affixing a bar to the wall above the window and using long drapes can give you all the protection and light control you need without sacrificing the room's aesthetic. Opening the drapes creates long straight lines flanking the windows, like certain Roman columns.
Shutters for Sidelights
While sidelights are great for peeking outside looking for Amazon packages, they can sometimes be a bother when you realize that your "friendly and talkative" neighbors can see you ignoring their doorbell rings.
Shutters are a great choice for covering sidelights, especially if you want to add privacy and decor to your home. They can be painted to match the window frame, making them more of a supporting role to however your front door is decorated (inside and out).
Half-Circle Shutter Ideas
Similar to arch windows, half-circle windows use a beautiful curved shape that doesn't necessarily always play nice with typically blocky window treatments like blinds.
